Training Future Cadets

It’s never too early to start training! Our future cadet learns the ropes with regular member Sharon Rubenstein, NREMT.

Does your child love to see lights and sirens zipping by on the street? Wave to us the next time we are speeding by. And remember the BHVRS is here for you 24/7 should you need us.

American Heart Month

February is American Heart Month. And love is in the air at the BHVRS. Regular member Amanda Boland, EMT, ensures her skills are up to date by taking her boyfriend’s blood pressure and vital signs.

At the BHVRS, we are family. And our members’ spouses, children, significant others, and friends are family too. We love when they stop by to visit!

Why I Ride – Roxanne Middlebrook

Are you curious about the Berkeley Heights Volunteer Rescue Squad (BHVRS)? Have you always wanted to join but are unsure if you have the time?

Roxanne Middlebrook has a message for her neighbors — you can help make a difference in our community, no matter how busy you are! She was concerned about joining the BHVRS with a demanding professional and home life. But the BHVRS made it easy to work around her schedule. Today Roxanne feels fulfilled being able to pay forward the kindness and generosity the community has shown her over the years. Learn more about membership opportunities and how we can make riding work for you by emailing: membership@bhvrs.org

Berkeley Heights Volunteer Rescue Squad’s Virtual Flower/Plant Sale Fundraiser for Relay for Life

The Berkeley Heights Volunteer Rescue Squad (BHVRS) will be hosting our 2nd-ever virtual Plant/Flower Sale to benefit Relay for Life, which benefits cancer patients and cancer research. Our Relay Team – BH EMS: Bringing Hope Every Minute to warriorS – will donate proceeds from the sale to Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society.  Because of the funds raised, many cancer patients and their families will benefit from the progress that is being made in the areas of research toward a cure and novel treatments and therapeutics through the American Cancer Society.

Orders may be placed online at  http://www.bhvrs.org/sale, beginning on Wednesday, April 28th, until Sunday, May 9th. Our online shop is easy to navigate, and we have a wide assortment of flowers/plants and herbs. This assortment includes beautiful flats and individual begonias, geraniums, impatiens, marigolds, vinca, and petunias in various bright colors and quantities. We are also selling stunning small and large hanging baskets.  This year azaleas, hydrangeas, spirea and potting soil are also available.

You can pick up your order on Sunday, May 16th, between 11 AM and 4 PM at the Berkeley Heights Volunteer Rescue Squad building, located at 378 Snyder Avenue in Berkeley Heights. At pick-up, strict social distancing measures will be enforced, and a mask/face-covering will be required to be worn at pick-up.
