Happy International Firefighter’s Day to our friends at Berkeley Heights Fire Department! We couldn’t ask for better partners to work with day in and day out. Whether it is an emergency, a standby event, or planning for what’s to come, the BHFD is right there with us ensuring we are all providing the best service we can to the Township. Truly the best!

Annual Installation Dinner
Last weekend, the Squad had a blast at our Annual Installation Dinner! We had many award recipients, but our notable award recipients were Howie Meyer and Michele Young! Howie was awarded his 50 years of service plaque and proclamation from Mayor Angie Devanney and Michele was named Volunteer of the Year by our Chief and President. Congratulations to all award winners!
Congratulations to our Cadet Co-Captain, Landry!
Neighbors
“A neighbor is someone who can help you when you need it, and who you can help when they need it.” – Unknown
Last night, Berkeley Heights EMS-1 and New Providence EMS-10 got to spend some quality time together while their crews were in the ED. It’s always nice seeing your neighbors!
Ever wanted to help your neighbors in their time of need? We are always looking for new members to join the BHVRS and help take care of our neighbors. Please visit our website BHVRS.org for more information and send in your application today!
PAL Parade
Our members had a blast leading the PAL parade with the Berkeley Heights Fire Department and the Berkeley Height Police Department and hanging out for all of the festivities! We are wishing the league a great, healthy season!

Cub Scouts at William Woodruff Elementary
Cub Scout Lion Den Pack 268 had a very special meeting with the BHVRS at William Woodruff Elementary School. Our members participated in an “Animal Kingdom” adventure which taught the kids what to do in the event of an emergency. Even the parents got involved! Everyone had to match up the emergency — a broken arm or scraped knee — with the correct first aid item. The highlight of the meeting was touring the ambulances and learning how the electronic stretcher worked.
Many of our volunteers are working parents with school-age children. As parents and EMTs, we love teaching our youngest members of the community about important first aid skills. Ever thought about joining the BHVRS? To learn about our flexible hours and opportunities email: membership@bhvrs.org.
